Like Snatchers and Thieves on the land, there are hackers in the Online World, so we need to be protected from them.

Let’s look at the tips below to ensure safe online shopping in 2017.

Tip # 1

Tip # 5

Never share the details of your Credit Card, Debit Card, PayTM, Freecharge, and MobiKwik accounts with anyone in your friend’s circle or not even with a Bank representative because they will never ask you for the CVV (a secret number given on the back side of your Credit Card) or password. If someone calls you and asks for the CVV or Password, then immediately disconnect the phone or give them a shout. You can also register a complaint against them in a Police Station.

Tip # 6

When you shop online, the websites will ask you to select a payment method like a debit card, credit card, PayTM, FreeCharge, MobiKwik, etc. Whichever mode you select, you will have to enter the related details. For example, Credit card number, CVV, etc. In the case of a wallet like PayTM, you will be asked for the login details of PayTM. You can provide these details, but also ensure that you always OPT for One Time Password (OTP) to complete the payment. When you opt for the OTP, you will get a password on your registered mobile phone. When you enter that password in the Online Shopping website, then only your payment will succeed. It means a hacker cannot steal your money until he does not have access to your registered mobile phone number.

It is because in the case a hacker gets access to your debit card, and in your account, you have 500000 rs, he may take them away. But, in the case of a credit card, there is always a limit of online shopping. In such a case, you will bear less loss. Moreover, when making payment with Credit Card always make payment using OTP rather than typing the password.
